Watson's Mill

Watson's Mill

Watson’s Mill is a unique 1860’s grist and flour mill located in Manotick, a historic and picturesque village situated on the banks of the Rideau River south of Ottawa. The best example of 1860’s gristmill architecture in Canada, it has a remarkable history linked to local politics, the building of a country, and a tragic love story.

Constructed of limestone quarried from the western channel of the river, many architectural journals describe the Mill as one of the best examples of 19th century grist mill architecture in Canada.

Richmond Fair

Richmond Fair Logo

Richmond Fair  September 15-18, 2016

“A Country Fair –Where Town & Country Meet”
celebrates 172 years of family entertainment.

The Richmond Fair is unique in that it is by far the largest spectator event held annually within the surrounding community. It promotes agricultural awareness within the City of Ottawa, a city with the largest agricultural land base and agricultural economy in Canada.

The fair offers a venue for those in the community to showcase their arts, crafts, livestock, produce, etc. It is also an ideal place for hooking up with friends and neighbours.

Although the fair’s mandate has been to promote agricultural awareness within the community, the other non-agricultural events such as the demolition derby, live music shows, rock climbing, lawn tractor pull, Robertson Amusements midway etc. provide a vast array of entertaining events for the whole family.
